Caryn was raised by her grandmother in the foothills of the Tennessee Appalachia Mountains. Caryn spent a decade studying martial arts and after graduating from college, went on to be a federal law enforcement officer. She soon realized that her body, mind, and soul needed something much different. Caryn then began her study of yoga, deciding to take a 200 hour yoga teacher training with certified Iyengar teacher Cindy Dollar in Knoxville, TN. Caryn then left her job and moved to the majestic state of Utah. She completed an additional 1000 hour yoga teacher training at Inbody Academy in Salt Lake City and has taught yoga to various organizations in the Salt Lake Valley to include the Salt Lake Police Department, the Lone Survivor Foundation, Camp Hobe, and CHG Healthcare. Caryn’s teaching style is inspired by the beautiful and creative flows of international yoga teacher and dear friend Lydie Ometto, the mindful alignment learned from Cindy Dollar, subtle hints of martial arts, and individual influences of many wonderful teachers. In addition to being a dedicated yogini and RYT 500, Caryn could also be described as an animal lover, total foodie, obsessive chair straightener, doting wife, and mother to Orion.
