Kari started attending yoga and pilates classes many years ago…as a way to pass the time while injuries prevented her from competitive trail running. She will be the first to admit, she was a long way from understanding the body, mind, and spirit connection and would leave most classes by quietly rolling up her mat and bolting out the door before savasana. Over the years, even though still drawn to the strength aspect of the asanas, she became more of a regular to yoga classes and found herself investigating the spiritual connections to her time on and off the mat.
A Montessori educator for the past 25 years, Kari took her education background into the Yoga world and completed her 200-hour training at Centered City Yoga. Ashtanga was her first love in yoga, so it seemed the right fit with the ashtanga influence at CCY. Kari has also completed her Pilates Mat Instructor trainIng. In her classes, she loves to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. Kari recently completed the course Traditions of Meditation with Tias Little and is excited to begin offering mindfulness and meditation gatherings.
Kari seeks to hold space for others to thrive in life by nurturing body, mind, and soul with yoga! Weaving spiritual teachings, pranayama, asana, and laughter, it is her goal that you step off the mat feeling balanced in all aspects of your life.
