Mountain Kids Yoga
Kids Yoga Series
Designed To Cater to the varying interests, energies, and developmental stages of children.
A creative and fun way for your child to learn to move their bodies, practice fun and challenging poses, explore breathing techniques, focus and calm their minds, and create a community with others.
During these 4-week sessions, students will develop the skills to identify and use mindfulness tools in their everyday life. Some of the tools include compassion for self, compassion for others and the earth, breathing games, gratitude, and visualization. These classes will help children become aware of their bodies, learn self-respect and respect for others, cope with stress and difficult emotions, build confidence, and develop coordination and strength.
Mom or Dad can take yoga too! Kids Yoga classes align with an adult class on the schedule. Pre-registration encouraged. *We have some leeway on ages. Call to see if your child’s age is appropriate*
Meet our kids yoga instructor: Jayme
I believe yoga and mindfulness techniques can help all beings make healthier choices for their mind, body, and heart in all situations. I observed the many benefits of yoga and breathwork on my family and myself which inspired me to complete my RYT 200 through Mountain Yoga Sandy and my RCYT through Yoginos: Yoga for Youth to further implement mindful practices in the community. In addition, I am a certified elementary and secondary health teacher. I have also obtained a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in Literacy Education. My love of educating children led me to teaching kindergarten in the wild west of Idaho and Nevada for seven years before moving to Utah in 2018 with my family. During this time, I incorporated breathing and yoga practices in a variety of environments including the classroom, a recreation center, yoga studio, and a before school program. These practices involved physical and mental techniques to build confidence, improve concentration, and spark creativity to students. I am extremely passionate about teaching yoga and mindfulness tools on and off the yoga mat, and continue to teach yoga classes throughout the community so everyone can have access to and incorporate them in their everyday lives.
