Julie grew up in Connecticut and moved to Utah in 1996, after graduating from Springfield College, MA with a B.S. in Health/Fitness. A competitive gymnast for 17 years, she transitioned to rock climbing, eventually to become co-owner of a climbing gym. Julie has experience coaching gymnastics, climbing, and general fitness in both clinical and recreational/gym settings. She has also done some team building/ ropes course facilitation.
Julie began teaching Bikram Yoga in the fall of 2006 after a friend introduced her to the practice 4 years before. She decided to become an instructor as an extension of her own personal practice. “Bikram yoga is a practice where your excuses, and patterns are constantly being shown to you, if you choose to look. It’s an arena where you can dissolve your self-imposed limitations, and your fears. Not only does your practice offer great health benefits it is also an amazing tool for self-realization. I knew that if I wanted to continue to grow I had to get up on the podium.”
“Being an instructor is a yoga practice in itself. For me, my physical practice gave me a lot, and it was also something that came pretty naturally to me, what didn't't’t come naturally to me was standing up on a podium and being willing to speak, to lead a group of people through their own trials and tribulations as they grew in there own practice…frankly that scared the crap out of me! Teaching has a funny way of amplifying whatever issues, and self judgments still plague you personally. You have to learn to make your peace with what ever shows up in class on any particular day. To me that, ultimately, is doing yoga…the place were you have total awareness of everything, and no judgment on any of it. My students are my teachers. I enjoy learning from what they reflect back at me, as much as I enjoy watching them transform and grow.”
Julie has also had the honor of demonstrating her yoga practice in the Bishnu Gosh National Yoga competitions in 2007 and 2008. In addition to her athletic creativity, Julie is also an artist and energy worker. She creates blown glass sculptural pieces as well as jewelry.
Julie began practicing various modalities of energy work in 2002 and has been Access Consciousness Practitioner/Facilitator since 2007. Access offers many tools for clearing limitations, facilitating awareness, which in turn allows the ability to generate the life you’d truly like to create. Julie teaches classes in Access and also does private sessions.

Joi did her first Viparita Karani pose at age 13, and then didn’t practice again until she was in her late 20’s, to help with infertility issues. (apparently it worked - she now has 3 darling daughters!) Through the years as her practice evolved, it became her ‘Calgon moment’ – (if you were born after 1980, you may not get that reference!). She wanted to share her love of yoga with others, and trained through Centered City Yoga’s 600-hour certification.
Joi teaches a playful and vigorous vinyasa flow class with a dash of lighthearted humor. She encourages her students to step outside their comfort zone, but to listen to their own bodies, modifying poses when necessary. Focused, challenging and fun, Joi’s classes are appropriate for any level practitioner.
In addition to Vinyasa, Joi teaches Restore Yoga, Pre/Post-natal & Yoga as a P.E. credit at a local high school.
Joi doesn’t have one "guru", but enjoys taking classes and learning from a variety of teachers in many different styles. She has attended several other master workshops with amazing teachers including Mitchel Bleier, Rolf Gates, Christy Burnett Simon Park & Tiffany Cruikshank.
Joi loves how yoga gradually develops into a lifestyle - a way of being that generates greater connectedness and contentment. She believes that we can take what we learn on the mat and apply these lessons to our everyday life – creating more connection, compassion and balance with the world around us.
When she’s not on the mat, she can be found dabbling with the other things she loves - reading, hiking, cooking/baking, practicing Transcendental Meditation, training for her black belt in Shotokan Karate, watching cheesy B-rated sci-fi movies, and being a wife & Mama to her 3 darling daughters.
Come to one of her classes, bring a good attitude & be ready to have some FUN!
Eventually she started practicing everyday. She saw the many ways yoga will change your life. She felt a strong pull and desire to share her passion with others. She enrolled in MYS 200hr teacher training. She completed her training in November of 2020. She is incredibly thankful she gets to share her passion with others.
When not teaching or practicing yoga you can find Jayda in the outdoors! She loves hiking, backpacking, and camping!

Marc Linton
Marc began practicing Bikram Yoga in 2006 after years of conventional physical and drug therapies did not alleviate the painful, daily muscle spasms in his back. Having had a severe motorcycle accident in 2002. he was left with multiple injuries, including compressed vertebrae, soft tissue damage throughout his body, and a fractured scull and Traumatic Brain Injury. "I was dealing with an extremely severe post-concussive syndrome that was manifesting in severe depression, anxiety, insomnia, memory & socialization issues. I came to yoga for my back pain, but I found it healing all of the issues I was dealing with including the brain injury."
"My memory improved, depression lifted and about six months into practice, I was out of pain and decided I needed to teach this yoga. I remember thinking "How do people not know this?"" Almost exactly two years after he began his practice, and as he continued to heal he was granted a full scholarship, and attended teacher training with Bikram in he fall of 2008. Upon returning from teacher training, Marc began teaching at Bikram yoga Sandy, and subsequently took on teaching at, and managing the Bikram Ogden studio for the summer, returning to teaching full time in Sandy that fall.
"I tell people that If someone would have said to me 10 years ago that I was going to be a yoga teacher I would have laughed . . . but here I am. I teach it because it works. I teach it because it gave me my life back." Marc enjoys Boarding (snow, wake, and surf), Cycling (road and mountain), rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, mixing underground dance music, and generally having a good time. "Don't be afraid of dying. Be afraid of not living

I have been studying T’ai Chi and Qigong since 1997 with Master Sifu Jerry Gardner, the co-owner of Red Lotus School of Movement in Salt Lake City, Utah. In January 2009, I became a Sifu, as well, and am now recognized as Sifu Toni. Sifu is pronounced “see-fu” and means teacher. With this title, I vowed to share, teach and practice T’ai Chi and Qigong for the rest of my life. (Yes, I love it that much!)
Beyond Mountain Sandy Yoga, I am a staff member at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, where I teach both modalities to patients, caregivers and staff. Students learn the joy of letting go and being in the present moment (where there is no stress), which can be healing in and of itself. I believe that the Eastern Arts support traditional allopathy modalities. For me, this has certainly been true. In January 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I feel my personal practice and continuing to teach throughout this C-Adventure has helped me to stay grounded and has expanded my awareness while staying connected to mySelf, my intuition, and my body.
I find that both T’ai Chi and Qigong are meant for each of us to have our own direct experience of slowing down, breathing and being present. You can read all about the benefits of these meditative art forms online, but there is no comparison to actually coming to class and feeling the benefit for yourself.
If you would like to learn more about these practices, I share personal insights on slowing down, being present, and flowing with life on my website, www.ChiMoments.com.
When I am not teaching, you’ll probably see me in the yoga studio being a student. I also love being outside — whether it’s hiking, snowshoeing or simply walking around my neighborhood.
My personal mantra: BE = BREATHE & EXPAND.

My personal mantra: BE = BREATHE & EXPAND.
I have been involved in athletics from a young age, but there was a period in my life where I was not active or taking care of my health. During 2009 and 2010, I developed severe issues with sciatica and low back pain. I was twenty years old and barely able to walk without pain. No amount of doctor visits or pain medications helped, and I was beginning to accept that for the rest of my life, I would be in pain. I was desperate and decided to Google yoga in my hometown. There was a Bikram Yoga studio only ten minutes from my house. Looking back at it now, it feels like it was all meant to be.
Bikram Yoga helped give me my life back. During my two years of pain, I realized how much I took my body for granted. It was quite an experience being unable to handle simple daily tasks without pain. I don't have any fear that I will be unable to keep up with my friends and family during any get-together now. No longer do I worry about my first movement in the morning being a painful one. I am able to enjoy all the activities that I love! I want all my students to be free of their pain.
Practicing Yoga became a big part of my life, and in the Fall of 2012, I decided to take the next step on my journey and attend the Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. I was Valedictorian of my class of over four hundred and fifty students. Upon graduation, I immediately began teaching in California. Aside from teaching, I started training for and taking part in Yoga competitions. In 2013 I was the California Yoga Champion and placed in the top ten nationally. Training began to cause aches and pains though, and some balancing was needed. In 2014 I added Yin Yoga to my practice and fell in love! Shortly after, I began teaching Yin, and I share this practice wherever I go.
I have had the opportunity to teach and travel around the world, even becoming the 2017 New Zealand Yoga champion. As I continued to explore more yoga practices and experience my practice beyond asana, I chose to attend a Baptiste style Power Vinyasa course in New Zealand. Now back in the United States, and with opened eyes and heart, I enjoy the wonders that my country has to offer.
A firm believer in a disciplined practice, I emphasize breath, stillness, and attention to form over depth.
In my class, I offer students the tools to de-stress and relax through stretching, movement, and breathe. I make sure these tools are transferable to the student's everyday life, with breath being the top tool to maintain a healthy well-being.
I teach beginners to the experienced yogi and I take great care and will honor your practice wherever you may be on your journey. I specialize in Restorative, Yin and Vinyasa Flow style of yoga. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 20 years and a Certified Yoga Teacher I am taking my combined experience and bringing a new workshop teaching how to use your yoga practice to help overcome trauma. Stay tuned!
Come take a class. I am looking forward to practicing yoga with you!!

Kari started attending yoga and pilates classes many years ago…as a way to pass the time while injuries prevented her from competitive trail running. She will be the first to admit, she was a long way from understanding the body, mind, and spirit connection and would leave most classes by quietly rolling up her mat and bolting out the door before savasana. Over the years, even though still drawn to the strength aspect of the asanas, she became more of a regular to yoga classes and found herself investigating the spiritual connections to her time on and off the mat.
A Montessori educator for the past 25 years, Kari took her education background into the Yoga world and completed her 200 hour training at Centered City Yoga. Ashtanga was her first love in yoga, so it seemed the right fit with the ashtanga influence at CCY. Kari has also completed her Pilates Mat Instructor training. In her classes, she loves to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. Kari recently completed the course Traditions of Meditation with Tias Little and is excited to begin offering mindfulness and meditation gatherings.
Kari seeks to hold space for others to thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga! Weaving spiritual teachings, pranayama, asana and laughter, it is her goal that you step off the mat feeling balanced in all aspects of your life.

Autumn holds several credentials including E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT. She has completed more than 2000 hours of additional training and continuing education courses.
She is known for never teaching the same class twice and blending the many different lineages of yoga together in an approach to work whole body and mind. Her classes leave you with a physical workout and a mental massage.
Personally, she believes in the power of deliberate energy and feels that ultimately it is our connection to the energy within us and around us that determines how well we can show up in the world. For her, yoga is a playground to check in with the energies of life- both internally and externally- and gather information to work towards a personal alignment and union with self.

Jennifer believes that in order to begin your journey of awakening your true self, you must push through the struggle, be brave, and look inside. Yoga is a safe space to be with yourself with no judgment, no expectations and begin to experience your liberation. Free to express yourself through movement, to feel raw emotions, and cultivate a relationship between the body, mind, soul. Her passion and love for yoga is felt in every session. She loves that she is able to share her passion at Reset and Renew retreats, or in a class setting, private sessions, workshops, through facilitating yoga teacher training programs. Jennifer is 500 E-RYT/IAYT recognized by Yoga Alliance and International Association Yoga Therapy. She is always a student striving to learn more and bring it to life sharing with everyone who enters her space. She loves studying both the eastern and western philosophies of the mind and using this to deepen the experience of yoga and further gain an understanding of oneself.
“Yoga is an amazing tool to guide you on your path to awaken the greatest version of you Go beyond your mat and find your liberation!”

In 1996, I started exploring the world of yoga. I was living in Seattle, attending art school, designing furniture and apprenticing as a woodworker. Not only did I discover that I truly loved yoga, but over the years I also found relief from the (world's) tightest hips and hamstrings, recovered from shoulder and hand injuries, and bounced back from two pregnancies with C-sections.
Teaching yoga began in 2000, when I was certified at the Bikram's Yoga College of India. I honor this foundation, but have not limited myself to this practice alone. Instead, I have continued my education with teacher trainings and workshops of many lineages. One of my personal goals with yoga is to practice authenticity and expansion. By focusing on these two attributes, I have also discovered gratitude and mindfulness.
One of my dreams has been to own a yoga studio, and I am grateful for Mountain Sandy Yoga. At the studio, we create a space where traditional yoga philosophy integrates with modern day science and bio-mechanics, building a sustainable practice for myself and others. I love witnessing others overcome their limitations and discovering how powerful they are. In addition to yoga, I am also inspired by my two children (who are my greatest teachers), art, design, traveling, and outdoor adventures.
